Sound barrier walls going up on Dulles Connector Rd.

STERLING, Va. (WUSA9) -- Work is underway to construct sound barrier walls on both sides of the Dulles Connector Road from Chain Bridge Road to I-66.

This is a $13 million, 4-mile project to help reduce the noise from traffic along the toll road and Metrorail.

VDOT officials say most of the work is done during daytime hours and they hope to have minimal impact on traffic.

The project should be completed by May 2015.
