LAUREL, Md. (WUSA9) -- Crews with the Maryland State Highway Administration will start closing lanes on northbound I-95 between the MD 200 (Intercounty Connector) interchange to just north of MD 198 (Sandy Spring Road) on Tuesday night.
The closures allow crews to remove old asphalt and pave.
Crews will close one lane of traffic on northbound I-95 beginning at 8 p.m. Tuesday. At 11 p.m., crews will remove traffic barriers. Wednesday, August 20 through Wednesday, August 27, crews will begin single lane closures at 8 p.m. and triple lane closures at 11 p.m. All lanes of traffic will reopen by 5 a.m. each morning.
Traffic will have full access to ramps but drivers should expect delays. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and consider the Baltimore/Washington Parkway, US 1 or US 29 as alternate routes, say SHA officials.
