SPRINGFIELD, Va. (WUSA9) -- Heads up for I-95 Springfield drivers, a long-term road closure may just drive you crazy. Beginning this Friday, August 8th VDOT is planning to close all left turns connecting the Franconia-Springfield Parkway and the I-95 North and South HOV lanes. Detour signs will be in place in both directions of I-95 and the Parkway, and you should expect delays.
Crews plan to reopen the lanes no later than the Tuesday after Labor Day.
This is all part of the 95 Express Lanes Project, where the HOV ramps are being widened. The Express Lanes are scheduled to open in early 2015.
