WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- There will be multiple street closures this weekend in Washington due to a barbecue festival.

Street closures will begin on Friday at 7 p.m., and will reopen on Sunday at 12 a.m., according to a news release.

The 2014 National Capital Barbecue Battle will run Friday, June 20 through Sunday, June 22.

The event times for Saturday are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The festival will cause the following closures: Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, from 9th Street to 14th Street; 13th Street from E Street to Pennsylvania Avenue, NW; 12th Street from E Street to Constitution Avenue, NW; 11th Street from E Street to Pennsylvania Avenue, NW; and 10th Street from E Street to Constitution Avenue , NW.

Additionally, Ford's Theatre Annual Gala will be held on Sunday, June 22 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

10th Street between E Street and F Street, NW will be closed from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to a news release.

All street closures and listed times are subject to change and motorists may encounter delays, according to officials.

The Metropolitan Police Department and the D.C. Department of Transportation urge motorists to take caution and as pedestrian traffic increases, according to the press release.
