WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Bike to Work Day is Friday. With thousands of participants and heavy rain predicted, here are some things you can do to protect yourself when bicycling in bad weather:
Visibility can be limited, so wear bright, waterproof clothing.
Front and rear fenders will keep you and your bike dry.
Make your turns slowly.
Most importantly for Friday, allow a greater distance for stopping as the roadways will likely be slick.
