WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- The Komen Race for the Cure is taking place in D.C. on Saturday. It will begin and end at the Washington Monument on the National Mall.
The best way to get there will be Metro, which will open early at 5 a.m. The closest Metro stops to the start area are the Smithsonian, Federal Triangle, Metro Center, and Archives.
Road closures will begin at 2 a.m. on 15th Street between Constitution and Independence and 5 a.m. on other major race routes. There will be plenty of variable signs posted and all roads will reopen by 11:00 a.m.
