BOWIE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Downed wires created problems for MARC and Amtrak train officials and their customers on Thursday.
All train traffic was halted on the MARC Penn Line service due to the downed catenary wires, according to MARC officials.
MARC trains are running again on the Penn Line.The 1st Northbound train leaves Union Station at 4:20 p.m. Southbound trains are already operating and MTA says the rest of the MARC trains should run on schedule this evening.
Metro is honoring MARC tickets, according to officials.
Amtrak has since restored all tracks between Washington and Baltimore.
Engineering and mechanical crews are on the scene and working to restore service as quickly and safely as possible.
