WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority officials said at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday that "airfield conditions are improving and operations are beginning to return to normal."
At Reagan National Airport, officials say that the main runway is open and flights have resumed, but some delays are possible.
All runways are open at Dulles International Airport, where flight operations are increasing. Officials also warn that some delays are possible.
Airport officials warned passengers who were driving about icy roads in the area. Sky 9 captured video of a tractor trailer that had jackknifed on the eastbound Dulles Toll Road near I-495 on Tuesday morning. Dulles Airport police say the tractor trailer hit a pile of snow, a sign, and then the jersey wall. They say there were no serious injuries.
