WASHINGTON D.C. (WUSA9/AP) -- D.C. drivers will have to take several road closures into consideration Saturday, due to the 2014 BET Honors.

13th Street, NW between Pennsylvania Avenue and F Street, NW will be closed Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to midnight.

E Street, NW between 12th and 13th Street, NW will be closed from midnight Saturday to 6:00 a.m. on Sunday.

The Metropolitan Police Department reminds drivers that all street closures and times can change depending on conditions.

There may be possible delays for people driving close to the event and the police department suggests taking alternative routes.

The Metropolitan Police Department and the D.C. Department of Transportation would like to remind drivers in the vicinity of this event to proceed with caution as there may be more pedestrians than usual.

Singer Aretha Franklin and Motown founder Berry Gordy will be honored during the show. Rapper-actor Ice Cube, American Express CEO Ken Chenault and photographer and video artist Carrie Mae Weems will also receive tributes.

Actor and comedian Wayne Brady will host the special, which will air Feb. 24.
