RICHMOND, Va. (WUSA9) -- Training Camp is about the players preparing for the regular season, but it's also about the fans.
It's the only time fans can get so up close and personal to their favorites in burgundy and gold.
Fans come from all over to watch Washington's football team in Richmond. Melba Jacobson came from Silver Spring with two of her children and two of her grandchildren.
Melba turns 90 on Thursday. She's one of the oldest Redskins fans we've ever met.
One of the things that makes her happy is the burgundy and gold, and she made sure her kids learned the Redskins way early on.
"From the time I was a little girl, Redskins, Redskins, Redskins... my Mom taught me the yell and everything. This is so special," said Melba's daughter Sharon Ramboz.

Owner Dan Snyder and a few players stopped by after practice for some early birthday greetings, including the quarterback himself.
Melba looks good for 90, and apparently she feels good for her age, too. She says she plans to be around for a long time.
Melba has four children, 15 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. At her age, she can't get to all the games, but she's planning on going to one this year. You know she's a true fan because it will be the last home game of the year... against the Cowboys.
Happy Birthday, Melba! HTTR!
Wednesday afternoon, Melba wrote a note to WUSA9 to thank Diane Roberts for helping make her birthday special:
"Thank you, again, Diane Roberts, for helping to make my day at Redskins Training Camp. You did a wonderful job working with the team PR people to make me feel like a queen for a day! It was a fantastic 90th birthday celebration. It was a great pleasure meeting you."
