WASHINGTON (AP) - Washington Redskins left tackle Trent Williams says there's a "new aura in the building" under new coach Jay Gruden.
The Redskins began their voluntary offseason workout program Monday, which includes weightlifting and running sprints in the practice bubble.
Washington is one of seven teams allowed to start offseason work two weeks early because of a new coach.
The Redskins fired Mike Shanahan after last year's 3-13 season.
Defensive tackle Barry Cofield says there's a "different type of energy" with a younger head coach. He said the assistant coaches appear more comfortable and will have more freedom under Gruden.
