WASHINGTON (AP) - A person familiar with the deal says Pro Bowl defensive end Jason Hatcher has agreed to a four-year, $27.5 million deal to join the Washington Redskins.

The person spoke Thursday on condition of anonymity because the contract had not yet been signed.

Hatcher would represent the most significant move yet by the Redskins, who had a cautious start to this year's free agency. He had 11 sacks last year and was selected to his first Pro Bowl in his eighth season with the Dallas Cowboys.

The Redskins also signed defensive end Clifton Geathers on Thursday, and another person familiar with the deal said the team has agreed to a one-year contract with free agent linebacker Darryl Sharpton.
