Funeral arrangements for dirt track racer Kevin Ward Jr., killed Saturday when he was hit by a car driven by NASCAR star Tony Stewart, have been set for Wednesday and Thursday.

Visitation will be held noon-4 p.m. ET and 6-9 p.m. ET, Wednesday at Trainor Funeral Home in Boonville, N.Y., according to owner Carl Trainor.

RACE DIRECTOR: Ward Jr. 'showed a lot of promise'

IN MOURNING: Upstate N.Y. community remembers Ward Jr.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at South Lewis Senior High School in Turin, N.Y.

Trainor said the funeral home isn't large enough for the crowd that is expected to attend the funeral.

Ward died during a race in Canandaigua, N.Y., when he left his car after being spun out apparently to confront Stewart who was coming around on a caution lap. Stewart's car hit Ward, who was thrown and suffered fatal injuries.
