WASHINGTON (WUSA 9) -- Athletic directors, guidance counselors, newspaper and yearbook teachers; the sports department at WUSA 9 has an exciting opportunity for your students!

We're looking to add to our team of high school sports journalists!

Through our Campus Correspondent program, high schoolers learn how to film athletic events, practice on-camera reporting and get their work published on our website, a division of USA TODAY!So if you know any high school juniors or seniors from the D.C. area who are passionate about sports, interested in winning college scholarships and want to develop their journalism skills with the pros -- send 'em our way!

We're kicking off our fifth year! So far 100 local high schoolers have participated in the program and we've awarded $58,000 in college scholarships thanks to our sponsor, the Central Atlantic Toyota Dealers.

Applying is easy, just have your students fill out the application below. At the start of each athletic season, we accept new correspondents! They attend a training session at our broadcast house in D.C. where each student gets a free flip-style video camera and official Campus Correspondent apparel.

After training, Correspondents set out to cover their school's athletic programs! From football to basketball, softball, lacrosse and more, students report on their favorite sports teams.

Then, at the end of the school year, our top Campus Correspondents win COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS!

We're looking forward to hearing from students at your school and another exciting year on WUSA 9 and USA Today High School Sports.
