HAMPSTEAD, Md. (WUSA 9) -- North Carroll soccer coach Andrew Harrell said it's hard to forget about winning the state championship last year and he hopes to have a repeat title this year.

"Our goal is to win as many games in the county as possible," Harrell said.

He said in the past the Panthers were not competitive in the county so every county game is exciting for the team.

"I try not to look behind," Harrell said. "But my expectations are to get back to that point we were at last year."

Harrell said the team lost 12 seniors but still has a good group of returning seniors. He also said there will be two transfer players from private schools.

"I'm looking for the seniors to take on the leadership role," Harrell said.

He said the team started preparing over the summer and has had its first week of practice. Harrell said the team is focused on winning.

North Carroll's first game is at 6:45 p.m., Sept. 5 at Francis Scott Key.
