WASHINGTON (WUSA 9) -- After a successful season last year, Maret coach Chloe Beizer said the 2014 soccer team has strong returning players.
"We have a solid foundation to build on the success we've had in the past," Beizer said.
She said it is tough to keep kids fit and healthy. Beizer said balancing the work load wears on the players.
"We are taking it one day at a time," Beizer said. "But we have really high expectations for the season."
Beizer said the rival games depend on which teams match Maret's school culture and soccer program. She said the Frogs' rivals are Georgetown Day and Sidwell Friends.
"We don't take any opponent lightly," Beizer said. "We approach training the same way for every game."
She said she is hopeful for a successful season because the players play like a team.
"They are incredibly dependable and work together as a unit," Beizer said.
Maret's first game is against St. Stephen's/St. Agnes at 4:15 p.m., Sept. 4.
