OLNEY, Md. (WUSA 9) -- DeMatha coach Elijah Brooks said the rivalry game between DeMatha and Good Counsel is a game that not only the players get ready for, but also the fans.
"It's a great feeling to have the entire area at the game on a Friday night," Brooks said.
He said the two teams have had great games against each other in the past and each team provides great players and coaches.
"It's a game we always mark our calendar for," Brooks said.
Good Counsel Coach Bill Milloy said the game is a classic rivalry between two great programs.
"Not always the best team wins," Milloy said. "After the game is over, there's not much left on the field."
He said Good Counsel has met DeMatha eight times in the last ten years. Milloy said this season is tough and both teams are good.
"There's no where to hide in this league," Milloy said. "Every team is good."
The game between DeMatha and Good Counsel will be played at 7 p.m., Oct. 3 at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School.
