Las Vegas, NV (SportsNetwork.com) - Webb Simpson fired an 8-under 63 on Friday to grab a 4-stroke lead at the end of two rounds of the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open
Simpson, who is seeking his fourth career win on the PGA Tour and first since the 2012 U.S. Open, finished 36 holes at TPC Summerlin at 15-under-par 127.
"I haven't won this year, but my one goal every year is to get better, and I felt like I got better," said Simpson. "I was happy to finish the Tour Championship with a good, solid tournament. Getting better, so that's all I care about."
Jason Bohn flirted with 59 during his second round, but struggled down the stretch to card a 7-under 64 and move into a group of five players tied for second place at 11-under 131.
First-round leader J.J. Henry is among that group after following Thursday's course-record setting 60 with an even-par 71 on Friday. Also sharing second is John Senden (66), Chesson Hadley (66) and Jeff Overton (68).
Ryan Moore (63) and Brian Stuard (65) occupy seventh place at minus-10.
