RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Robert Griffin III has had his share of ups and downs in his first training camp under new coach Jay Gruden.

From moments shaky to superb, Griffin has looked exactly like what he is - a young player trying to master a new scheme.

Says Griffin: "That's what training camp is about. You're going to have those days where it seems a little up and down."

Griffin's uneven camp has in no way suggested a quarterback controversy. Gruden says Griffin has "the keys to the franchise in his hands. And he's going to take us a long way."

The Redskins break camp Tuesday.
