ROCKVILLE, Md. (WUSA 9) -- Churchill and Bethesda-Chevy Chase's hockey teams hit the ice on Friday night to support USA Warriors Hockey, a program for U.S. service members and veterans injured in the line of duty who are making the transition back to civilian life.

Churchill topped BCC, 8-2, but together the Montgomery County athletes raised over $1,200 for USA Warriors.

"You realize it's more than just a game, it's a passion and a way of life," said senior Bulldogs captain Connor Liu. "Not everyone has two legs to skate ... it really puts things in perspective for me."

Tune in to WUSA 9 next week for a more in-depth look at the athletes of USA Warriors and the high school hockey players inspired by their strength.
