With Apple's September 9th event now confirmed, anticipation for what the company will unveil has reached a new level.
The iPhone 6 is expected, in 4.7 and 5.5 inch options, but the big wildcard appears to be what will happen with the rumored Apple wearable. A recent report from Re/code says that the device would be announced at the event, but a new report from the site says that while the wearable would be announced, it may not actually ship until 2015.
While the move would mean the wearable would miss the holiday shopping season, it's not unprecedented for Apple when it comes to the introduction of major new products. The original iPhone was released six months after it's unveiling in 2007, while the original iPad shipped three months after it was announced in 2010.
With analysts expecting the new iPhone to potentially raise sales by 20%, the company certainly won't be hurting. Apple was up slightly to $102.56 in trading late Friday.
