ORLANDO, FLA. — A Walt Disney World Resort custodial worker was arrested on Friday on allegations of holding a co-worker against her will and sexually battering her in a closet at their place of work.
Gideon Paul Hunte, 49, was arrested on charges of kidnapping and sexual battery.
Orange County Sheriff's Office officials said that the woman claimed that Hunte, whom she knew from seeing him at work, pinned her against a wall in a custodial closet on Thursday evening and forced her onto her knees while attacking her.
According to the Sheriff's office, the victim, who was not identified, told deputies that she resisted throughout the duration of the attack, which lasted about five minutes.
She said she thinks that her attacker stopped the attack because she would not keep quiet.
The incident was reported by the victim to her supervisor, who contacted police.
The victim told deputies she was not friends with Hunte and has never had a relationship with him.
Hunte was arrested and taken to the Orange County Jail after being interviewed by detectives.
Disney issued a statement that read: "This is a law enforcement matter. He has been placed on unpaid leave pending the outcome of the charges. We have zero tolerance for this type of alleged behavior."
Disney would not comment about how long Hunte has worked at the theme park or about the extent of his interactions with park guests. A park spokesman said the attack happened in a backstage area where guests were not present.
