PEARL, Miss. (The Clarion-Ledger) -- A Pearl woman is facing drug and child neglect charges after she allegedly hid methamphetamine in her 5-year-old daughter's pockets, according to reports.

Margaret Lopez Carrillo, 35, was pulled over by a Rankin County deputy Monday for a routine traffic stop. WAPT reports the deputies were given permission to search the vehicle after noticing Carrillo's two children, 12 and 5, were not wearing seat belts.

WLBT reports the deputies discovered a crack pipe in plain sight and a further search unveiled two bags of meth in the pockets of the five-year-old. The 12-year-old daughter of Carrillo told authorities her mother told her to hide the drugs in her sister's pockets.

The report says the children are in the custody of the Department of Human Services. WAPT says Carrillo will face felony possession of a controlled substance and an additional charge relating to child neglect.
