PORT RICHEY, Fla. -- A woman was arrested Sunday afternoon after police say she left her two young children alone in a locked car for about 20 minutes while she shopped at a Port Richey adult superstore.
Pasco Sheriff's deputies were called out to Todd's Adult Superstore on U.S. 19 by witnesses who said they waited for least 20 minutes with the children who they found alone in a car in the parking lot.
When police arrived the car was locked and running. When they found their mother, 22-year-old Morgan Crocker, she admitted to making a "stupid mistake" and believed the 1-year-old and 3-year-old children would be okay while she helped a friend shop inside.
The children were not harmed and were turned over to a Pasco Sheriff's Office CPI. Crocker has been charged with child neglect and leaving a child unattended in a motor vehicle.
