DULLES, Va. (WUSA9) -- Frontier will be flying out of Dulles at the end of August to 14 non-stop domestic destinations. It's one of the few discount airlines at Dulles International Airport. Because of its debut, the carrier is offering $15 fares through midnight Tuesday. Wednesday the fares go up to $39 through Saturday.
Keep in mind Frontier operates A La Carte. Personal bags are free. Roll on bags start at $20 and Checked bags are about the same depending on early booking.
Daniel Shurz, Frontier Senior VP said, "what customers will find is even when they add the items they want, they invariably will find the total trip will still cost less when they fly Frontier. We really offer the best travel value."
Seats are limited and you must fly between August through November 19th.
Other discount carriers at Dulles started strong but then ended up trimming back service.
Frontier says they don't plan on cutting back. They say they want to keep the focus on Dulles, and maintain low fares to support a growing population in the region.
Frontier offers one route to their hub in Denver at Reagan Airport but Dulles, by far, will have many more flights.
Chairman Scott York, Loudoun County Board of Supervisors, "A healthy airport is good, not only for Loudoun but for the region."
Gail Kent, Fairfax, "I think that's incredible. I think we need all the airlines we can get. They keep changing on us. We need more competition.
