SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - California jurors deciding a patent-infringement case involving the world's two biggest smartphone makers failed to reach a verdict after their first full day of deliberations.

The four men and four women spent Wednesday considering the case and will resume deliberations on Thursday at the federal courthouse in San Jose.

At one point, they sent a note to the judge asking several questions about evidence, including what Apple founder Steve Jobs said when the company decided to file a lawsuit accusing rival Samsung of patent infringement.

That information wasn't presented during the monthlong trial and the judge told jurors that no additional evidence is available.
