STERLING, Va. (WUSA9) -- U.S. Customs and Border Protection arrested two fugitives at Dulles International Airport on Tuesday.
The arrests were unrelated and made based on two separate warrants.
The first arrest made was Edwin Zolano Salazar, of Alexandria, Virginia. Salazar arrived on a flight from El Salvador and authorities discovered there was a warrant for his arrest for failure to pay child support, officials said.
Jude Mark Nelson of Silver Spring was the second person arrested on Tuesday. Nelson was boarding a flight to Ethiopia when officers determined Nelson was the subject of an arrest warrant for theft, burglary and 2nd degree assault, officials said.
Both Salazar and Nelson were arrested and turned over to the Metropolitan Airport Authority police for extradition, officials said.
