RICHMOND, Va. (WUSA9) -- After the jury was dismissed Wednesday in the federal corruption trial of former Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell and his wife, prosecutor Michael Dry complained about Bob McDonnell embracing his witness during a break in the hallway.

Reporter Joe St. George from WTVR witnessed Bob McDonnell hugging Mary-Shea Sutherland, former chief of staff for Maureen McDonnell, during a break in her testimony. St. George heard Bob McDonnell say, "good to see you" as he hugged Sutherland.

Judge James Spencer told McDonnell's attorney to straighten up his client and not to let it happen again.

Mary-Shea Sutherland was not happy as chief of staff for Maureen McDonnell. She says the former first lady was a screamer who complained about a lot of things. One time she berated Sutherland because she believed the chef was intentionally serving bad shrimp at the mansion to ruin her holidays.

Sutherland said it was so bad that she was looking for a new job. One of the people she was talking to about employment was Jonnie Williams.

However, after Sutherland set up a launch party at the governor's mansion for Williams's Anatabloc, she said he cancelled their plan.

Sutherland told investigators that Jonnie Williams was Maureen's favorite "playmate" and that Jonnie and Maureen would meet upstairs in the mansion and in the basement for private meetings. She described the meetings as "playdates".
