FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (WUSA9) -- Fairfax County Police Department is searching for three men who have placed skimming devices on at least four ATMs in Fairfax County over the past few weeks.
Authorities said one of the skimming devices was put on at the drive thru ATM at the SunTrust Bank at 6052 Burke Commons Road on July 6. The three men, who are being described as white men in their thirties had a pizza box with them.
Police said the men put skimming devices on SunTrust banks located at 6125 Rolling Road on June 28 and 29 and the bank located at 9400 Richmond Highway on June 6.
According to authorities, the affected customers have been identified. Police want to remind the public that this is a crime on the rise and the public should continue to check their bank statements.
Police also warn the public to look at ATMs closely. The skimming devices may be on the machine and affixed loosely with tape, according to authorities.
