FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (WUSA9) -- Fairfax County Police are investigating a bank robbery that happened along the 6300 block of Richmond Highway in Alexandria on Saturday afternoon.

Police said the robbery happened at approximately 2 p.m. at a Wells Fargo bank. The suspect passed a note to the teller demanding money but left before he could get any cash. Police do not know why.

According to police, nobody was injured in the incident.

Police are searching for a black man in his twenties, 5 feet 9 inches tall with a thin build and short curly hair.

Police said the suspect was wearing a tan baseball cap and black sweatshirt at the time of the incident.
