ROANOKE, Va. (AP) - Roanoke's prosecutor says charges won't be pursued against the drivers involved in two separate fatal pedestrian accidents.

Commonwealth's Attorney Donald Caldwell tells The Roanoke Times (http://bit.ly/RBF0Qy ) that both accidents occurred at night during bad weather. He says each driver stopped, assisted and remained at the scene.

Sixty-seven-year-old Gerald Schertz was hit by a vehicle as he walked to his office on Nov. 26, 2013. He died three days later.

Meanwhile, police are continuing to search for the driver of a pickup truck that struck and killed Christine Willis Turner on Oct. 29, 2013. The truck fled the scene.
