(WUSA9) -- Two men who robbed and assaulted a woman in Fairfax County were later caught in Prince George's County, according to police.
The robbery happened Saturday at 2:30 a.m. in the 9200 block of Topaz Street, say Fairfax County Police. A woman was getting out of her car when two men approached her. One of them took out a handgun and they both assaulted her.
They took her purse and fled in a vehicle, say police. Police later located the vehicle on Interstate 95 and pursued it to Old Fort Road and Indian Head Highway in Prince George's County, Md. Both suspects bailed from the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot but they were apprehended.
Police have not released the names or mug shots of the men as they are awaiting extradition of the suspects from Maryland.
Police say the victim was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
