LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (WUSA9) -- A Virginia man has been charged with one count of destruction of property in a road rage incident on Tuesday, April 1.
Police say Francis Rueschenberg, 53, of Bluemont, Va., followed a driver to his work place and vandalized his car after the driver honked at Rueschenberg at the intersection of Waxpool and Old Waxpool roads, police say.
The driver noticed a pickup truck driven by Rueschenberg following him to his workplace, but did not encounter Rueschenberg at any time and proceeded into his place of employment, police say.
Rueschenberg is alleged to have spray painted fluorescent orange on the back tailgate and rear window of the driver's SUV, police say.
Rueschenberg was subsequently charged with the Class 3 misdemeanor offense, which carries a maximum fine of $500.
