CENTREVILLE, Va. (WUSA9) -- A man has been charged after fire officials say he intentionally lit clothes on fire, which sparked a fire at his home in Centreville.
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department officials say that at approximately 12:30 a.m. Thursday firefighters were sent to the 13900 block of 13292 Scotch Run Court for a fire.
They found fire coming from the basement of a 3-story detached single family home and spreading to a neighboring home. A total of 60 firefighters worked to bring the fire under control in approximately 10 minutes.
Due to the extensive damage, four people were displaced from their homes. Red Cross is helping them.
Twenty-five-year-old Giancarlo Deleon was arrested at the scene and charged with intentionally applying an open flame to clothing that were saturated with an ignitable liquid.
