UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (WUSA9) -- Two people are dead after a vehicle collision that happened in Upper Marlboro Friday night, Prince George's County Police Department said.
The victims have been identified as 19-year-old Aarrayn Perez of Upper Marlboro and 66-year-old Barbara Armes of SE, D.C., police said.
The accident happened around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Ritchie Marlboro Road and North Riding Road. Two cars were involved in the accident, police said. Both the driver and the passenger in one of the cars involved were pronounced dead on the scene, according to Prince George's County Police Department.
Perez was driving a Lexus on North Riding Road, driving up to Ritchie Marlboro Road when Perez did not yield the right of way, while trying to turn from North Riding Road onto northbound Ritichie Marlboro Road, police said. A Nissan going southbound on Ritchie Marlboro Road hit the Lexus, according to authorities.
The driver of the Nissan was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
