UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (WUSA9) -- Prince George's County officials say a pedestrian was killed after being hit by a bus in Upper Marlboro.
It happened at the intersection of Main Street and Water Street, and involved a large bus.
Police say multiple cars were involved. Somehow, the pedestrian was hit and trapped under the bus.
According to officials the preliminary investigation revealed that the woman was struck while trying to cross Water Street. Officials believe the victim was in the crosswalk when she was struck. According to authorities he bus driver stayed on the scene. Officials are continuing their investigation into the incident.
The victim was identified Friday morning by police as 69-year-old Patsy Stokes Burton of Nelson Drive in La Plata.
