SILVER SPRING, Md. (WUSA9) -- The Montgomery County officer who was grazed by an alleged drunk driver while directing traffic was almost hit by a car during an incident in 2008, according to a police report.
Officer Francis McDonough, a 20-year veteran of the force, was walking over to a car that he had pulled over for speeding on Dec. 3, 2008 when the driver made a u-turn and sped towards him.
Police say McDonough fired multiple rounds at the car. The driver, later identified as 51-year-old Babajide Vidal of Germantown, fled the scene. He was arrested two days later.
