SILVER SPRING, Md. (WUSA9) -- Montgomery County police have arrested two young adults for carjacking after they returned to the scene of the crime.
Brothers Anthony Knox, 21, of the 11800 block of Old Columbia Pike in Silver Spring, and Antonio Knox, 20, of the 700 block of Sligo Avenue in Silver Spring, were arrested and charged with armed carjacking, according to Montgomery County police.
The incident occurred on June 27 at approximately 11:51 a.m. at the 7-Eleven located at 8101 Fenton Street in Silver Spring. A 27-year-old victim spoke with officers and stated that she was sitting in the passenger seat of a 2014 Ford Focus in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven.
She told police her friend, who had been driving, had gone inside of the store to make a purchase. As the victim was waiting for her friend, three males approached the vehicle. One of the suspects pushed the victim's head (her vehicle window was open) while another suspect displayed a handgun, police said.
The victim fled from the vehicle and called police. At approximately 1:25 a.m., patrol officers located the stolen Ford Focus, parked and unoccupied, in the 700 block of Silver Spring Avenue.
The suspects returned to the 7-Eleven around 1:40 a.m. and were identified immediately by the victim. Detectives continue to investigate the identity of the third suspect involved in this crime and are releasing a surveillance photograph of the suspect.
Investigators believe that the third suspect goes by the nickname of "Freak."
