SILVER SPRING, Md. (WUSA9) -- Two men were robbed at gunpoint in Montgomery County on Thursday morning, police said.

Police got separate phone calls from a complicated robbery and kidnapping situation that happened at around 11:00 a.m. in the Calverton area of Silver Spring, police said.

The first call police received was from the Bank of America on 11499 Columbia Pike, for a report of a robbery. The victim claims he was forced to go to the bank by three suspects from his room from a nearby Marriott hotel on Prosperity Drive, police said.

The next call was from the other victim, who escaped the room at the Marriott and ran to a Home Depot nearby to make the call to police about the robbery.

The victim who called from the Home Depot called police and said he was awakened by a knock on the door.

"He opened the door and three male suspects entered the room, one armed with a handgun. The suspects requested money from the victim, and the victim provided them with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects claimed that it was not enough money and that the victim would have to provide more," police said in a news release.

The victim then called his friend and asked if he could come to the room, where he was being held at gunpoint, police said.

Two of the three men forced the friend into a car, where a woman was waiting behind the wheel, police said.

"The three suspects drove victim #2 to the Bank of America, and one of the suspects accompanied Victim #2 inside the bank. Before approaching the teller, Victim #2 wrote a note on the withdrawal slip asking the teller to contact police. The teller contacted police, and the suspect fled from the bank along with the other two suspects who had come to the bank," police said in a news release.
