SILVER SPRING, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police are searching for a man who exposed himself in front of a 5-year-old girl at a thrift store in Silver Spring on Sunday.

Authorities said they are investigating the incident that happened around 2:20 p.m. at the Unique Thrift Store located at 10141 New Hampshire Avenue.

The five-year-old victim, her eight-year-old sister and their mother were all shopping at the store. Police said the man went up to the 5-year-old and exposed himself. The girl ran and told her mother and the mother asked the daughter to show her the suspect.

When the girl showed her mother who the suspect was, the man exposed himself again, according to authorities. The suspect then ran out of the store.

Police are describing the suspect as a Hispanic man, around five feet 6 inches tall and weighs around 150 pounds, with short black hair and a mustache. The man was wearing blue jeans and a blue and white striped t-shirt at the time of the incident, police said.

Detectives are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect or who has information about this case to call the Family Crimes Division at 240-773-5400.
