WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Prince William County police say a man who was wanted for a domestic assault has turned himself in.
Thirty-two-year-old Joseph Cantrell Lee turned himself into police on June 15 after officers obtained warrants for his arrest following an assault on June 12.
The 35-year-old victim told police that she was involved in a verbal altercation with Lee that escalated. Police say Lee assaulted the victim and prevented her from leaving the residence, located in the 1700 block of Pine Shadows Way.
At one point, police say Lee stuffed toilet paper into the victim's mouth. The victim was eventually able to leave the home and contact police. She sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Lee is charged with aggravated malicious wounding, strangulation, abduction, and domestic assault & battery.
