MANASSAS, Va. (WUSA9) -- Rabbits, sheep, goats and a bull calf are available for adoption at the Prince William County Animal Shelter.
The animals were recovered from the Cross State's Stable in Bristow, where officials found several animals which appeared to be emaciated and in need of medical care.
Larry Dale Sams, 58 and Carolyn Mae Sams, 33 were arrested and charged with animal cruelty.
Animal control officers removed 59 animals from the property. Some of these animals had to be euthanized due to their poor condition of health. The rest of the animals are being cared for by the Animal Control staff.
At this time, the dogs and horses are not available for adoption.
Donations from the public to aide in the care of these animals can be made here: http://www.pwhumane.org/our-programs/poor-animals-welfare-surgical-fund-paws-fund/
