POTOMAC, Md. (WUSA9) --Two workers in Potomac had to be rescued after a trench collapsed Thursday evening.
The trench collapsed in the 10900 block of Martingale Court in Potomac, officials said.
One of the four crew members went to a neighbor's house and told them that a trench had collapsed and that they needed to call 911, fire and rescue officials reported.
The two workers were buried waist/shoulder deep in wet mud, fire and rescue officials reported. Both workers were conscious and breathing during the rescue, officials reported.
It took the technical rescue team about three hours to rescue the the two workers.
After nearly three hours Montgomery County Fire and Rescue crews were able to free two workers from a collapsed trench in Potomac.
