OXON HILL, Md. (WUSA9) -- Two people were struck by an SUV Tuesday night in Oxon Hill, Md.
Police say an adult male and an 11-year-old child were struck at 8:43 p.m. at the intersection of Indianhead Highway and Palmer Road. The adult and child were attempting to cross southbound Indianhead Highway when they were struck by a Cadillac SUV. The SUV was in the southbound lanes of Indianhead highway, police say.
The child was flown to a local trauma center in critical but stable condition. The adult suffered an injury to his leg and was taken by ambulance to an area hospital.
The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene to talk to police. The southbound lane of Indianhead Highway re opened to traffic at approx. 9:45pm
