MCLEAN, Va. (WUSA9) -- Fairfax County police say a four-year-old boy from Silver Spring drowned during a party at a home in McLean on Saturday.

Police responded to a home in the 900 block of Douglass Drive around 9 p.m. on June 28 for a reported drowning.

When police arrived, adults were performing CPR on the boy, who was then transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the child was at the party with his family and several other guests. We're told another child saw the boy in the pool and told adults.

Fairfax County police are not releasing the child's name.
