FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA9) -- One person was killed in a car crash in Maryland Wednesday morning.
Kyle Etzler, age 25 of Emmitsburg was killed in a collision that took place on Route 140 at about 10:24 a.m. in Frederick County, Maryland State Police said.
Etzler was unable to slow down when a driver in front of him made a right turn into a private driveway off of eastbound Route 140, police said.
This caused Etzler's car to strike the rear of the car in front of him, sending his car into the westbound lane of Route 140, police said. Etzler's vehicle was struck head on by a tanker truck when it entered the westbound lane, police said.
Etzler was declared dead on the scene by paramedics at 10:58 a.m.
No one else was injured during the collision and no charges are being filed at this time, police said.
