FREDERICK (WUSA9) -- A Frederick man was arrested and charged with child abuse on Wednesday.
Brandon Renuldo Barnes was charged with first and second degree child abuse and first degree assault, police said.
According to Frederick police, detectives were called to Frederick Memorial Hospital on August 5th for a Child Abuse report. Investigations revealed that the child had multiple injuries consistent with abuse, police reported.
Police said Barnes was identified as the suspect in the case and a warrant was issued on Wednesday.
Barnes was taken into custody without incident on Wednesday and transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, police said.
Police report that Barnes will be charged as an adult due to the nature of the abuse.
