NORTH EAST, Md. (WUSA9) -- Maryland State Police arrested two people and recovered more than one dozen of guns, ammunition and hundreds of baggies of heroin in North East, Md.
Police said they arrested Jeremiah J. Bedwell, 23 and George W. Anderson Jr., 40, both of North East, Md.
According to authorities, Bedwell is being charged with possession of a large amount of controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute narcotics, possession of a firearm in a drug trafficking crime, illegal possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, and possession of a rifle with a felony conviction. Police said his bond is at $200,000.
Authorities said, Anderson is being charged with possession of a large amount of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute narcotics, and possession of a firearm in a drug trafficking crime. His bond is also at $200,000.
Police said they recovered at total of 17 firearms, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and 319 baggies of heroin.
The firearms were not registered to either one of the suspects, according to police. Due to past criminal convictions, Bedwell is not permitted by Maryland law to possess a firearm.
