HYATTSVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Hyattsville City Police announced the arrest of two men who they say shot two teens in the 5700 block of 30th Avenue on July 30.
Josue Vladimir-Resinos and Aldair Antonio Garcia-Miranda are charged with attempted first degree degree murder, first and second degree assault & reckless endangerment.
Both Vladimir-Resinos, 33, of Laurel, Md., and Garcia-Miranda, 20 of Wheaton, Md., are being held on a no bond status.
Police say that three male friends ages 15-17 were walking on a sidewalk in the 5700 block of 30th Ave. when they were approached by three Hispanic males around the ages of 18-20. According to officials, one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and began firing at the victims.
Police report that one victim was struck once in his right side, another was hit in the face, arm and multiple times in the upper torso. Those two victims were taken to a local hospital. The third male victim was able to run away un-harmed.
Three of the shots fired entered a nearby home. None of the three persons inside at the time were hurt, officials say.
Police say the suspects escaped in a brown Jeep Cherokee operated by a Hispanic male, heavy set, bald, facial hair, wearing a blue basketball style jersey. The jeep headed toward Queens Chapel Road,
Police did not offer any further information, including the status of a potential third suspect.
