OCEAN CITY, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police are urging people to check their bank and credit card statements after a recent cyber attack targeted credit-card processing companies.
According to authorities a company that has contracts with many Ocean City businesses, primarily restaurants and bars, was affected by the breach.
Officials say that these businesses were compromised June 2nd through July 19th. Those systems are now secure and the U.S. Secret Service is currently investigating the attack, officials report.
Officials say that anyone who believes their information may have been stolen should contact their bank of credit card issuer immediately.
